We are currently computing currency parity values with data collated from economics research work. Our aim is to associate weight to fiat currencies to facilitate stable currency exchange rate regime. So far, the following list of currencies have been covered out of the 152 uniquely identifiable currencies in use worldwide.
- United States Dollar (USD) – the most traded currency and currently used as the standard for comparing currency values while its value is tracked using the USD Index (USDX), a measure of the USD against a basket of currencies made up of Eurozone euro, Swiss franc, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, British pound, and Swedish krona which is supposed to be a reflection of the major trading partners of the US.
- Euro (EUR) – the second most traded currency and currently in use by countries in the Eurozone consisting of 19 countries namely Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovania and Spain. The euro weighs 57.6% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- Japanese Yen (JPY) – the thrid most traded currency weighing 13.6% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- United Kingdom Pound (GBP) – among the top six most traded currencies weighing 11.9% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- Canadian Dollar (CAD) – among the top six most traded currencies weighing 9.1% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- Swedish Krona (SEK) – among the top twelve most traded currencies weighing 4.2% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- Swiss Franc (CHF) – among the top six most traded currencies weighing 3.6% in the USDX basket of currencies.
- Australian Dollar (AUD) – among the top six most traded currencies.
- Chinese Remninbi (CNY) – among the top ten most traded currencies.
- Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) – among the top ten most traded currencies.
- New Zealand Dollar (NZD) – among the top twelve most traded currencies.
- South Korean Won (KRW) – among the top fifteen most traded currencies.
- Singapore Dollar (SGD) – among the top fifteen most traded currencies.
- Norwegian Krone (NOK) – among the top fifteen most traded currencies.
